A walk around Seattle’s Green Lake

This walk will (so help me) become part of my regimen as I prepare for the Danskin Triathlon this summer – especially because my personal training sessions are over and there’s no way I can pay another $75o for another 6 weeks. Elisabeth lives just a few blocks from Green Lake so at least twice a week we’ll meet at her house after work and do this 3 mile walk. Eventually (she says once I stop snapping pictures constantly), we should be pretty quick, especially if when we (gasp) start running, but right now it’s taking us just under an hour. It’s not a bad work-out because… well, because of this:

(I know! How cute is he?!)

Dream house alert! This house is directly across the street from the lake. Swoooon!

Have I mentioned lately how much I love Seattle and the Pacific Northwest?

  2. What a gorgeous walk! I've been doing a little walking around my house, but it is SO HILLY. Gah! Which I know is probably good, but I keep finding excuses...

  3. Thanks for the walking tour! I love Green Lake park. Jill's first Seattle apartment was just a block from there. Seattle and the whole Puget Sound area is so awesome! Even after three years, we're still pinching ourselves that we get to live here.

  4. You got some great photos! (and a beautiful day) I'm sure your walking speed will increase once you stop taking pictures. :)

  5. Gorgeous! Nothing beats the Pacific Northwest for scenery and nature. I wish we had a lake to walk around here. Nothing but cabbage fields as far as the eye can see!

  6. haha I can imagine you're not doing much running with that many pictures :p

isn't there downloadable "start-to-run" mp3's ? everyone trains with those here in Belgium...it tells you how long to walk, to run a bit and in x weeks you can run 5 kms from scratch. Then there's follow-up programs to run to 10 kms and 15 kms. I know Jenn in Holland (in MO now ) found something similar which she uses

    beautiful lake though!
