I got Tom something he seems to really want, something he’s talked about for a while, something that he thinks would be really cool to have.
(Yawn.)
I got him one of these:

Wow, Anon... that's the nicest comment you've ever made! ;-) We got the gray matte, just like the picture shows. It's kinda industrial looking, but it's as manly as a kitchen mixer gets! (Plus, if/when we remodel, it'll look great with stainless appliances...)
Jan would totally drool over such a present...I must remind myself of this idea. It looks totally awesome!
I have my mother's old KitchenAid mixer (it's white - boring... but that's OK) and it's still going strong even though it must be 60 years old. Best item in our kitchen by far. I hope you (and whoever you bequeath it to someday) gets as much use out of yours.
