Digging Deep, Climbing High

Peter’s back – and he brought photos (and my beloved camera) back with him.

He’s exhausted, humbled and depleted.  I think this will be one of those experiences that will be looked upon more favorably in retrospect than on the day her arrives home.

Peter didn’t quite make it all the way to the summit.  The mountain “kicked his ass” – though he gave it his best shot.  He knew before he left that he probably should have spent a little more time training (and a little less time partying) in preparation for this sort of excursion.

Paul made it to the top and took my camera with him.  Here’s a little photo essay:

It’s safer to climb at night when the snow is cold and hard:

I’m sure that photos don’t do this sort of experience justice.

A sigh of relief (and comfortable shoes)!

  2. Okay, so this is so weird, I know, but *I'm* so relieved they're back! Truly. I've been on the edge of my seat with this series.

Whether or not he made it to the top, he's still had a major accomplishment. The pictures are amazing, too.
