Traditional Sunday Meme (on Tuesday)

I found this over at... damn, where DID I find it? I swore, when I copied it and held on to it, that I'd remember. I don't. If this is yours, please take credit -- and accept my apologies.

You’re feeling: Cold. No, wait. Hot. Oh damn. Cold.

To your left: An insurance EOB (I just met my deductible!), a phone hand-set, my reading glasses case, freshwater cucumber hand lotion, a 512 MB flash drive.

On your mind: Work, Aleks' and Kat's graduation, the mess in the bedroom, the need for a wine rack after Saturday's wine tasting, and where we'll store the couch that's waiting for us at the store's warehouse between now and when Peter and Danelle take our existing couch to WAZZU with them.

Last meal: Today was "clean out the fridge"day, which included the following leftovers: pasta, sauce, orange chicken, potato salad, cole slaw, and vegetable soup. I always also try to include some "new" stuff on these days: pierogie, a big green salad. It feels great to have cleaned out the fridge -- until the new stuff ends up there as old stuff (for the next "clean out the fridge" day).

You sometimes find it hard to: I asked Tom for input on this one. His answer (and I share it with you only because I trust you): "Use logic appropriately." Whatever that means. Makes no sense to me!

The weather: June-uary! Windy, cold, cloudy, rainy. I'd rather not talk about it. (Added later: OK, let's talk about it: the Internet is out due to a windstorm, and Aleks has a MASSIVE AP project due tomorrow -- the last project of his high school career -- and all the documents are stored online!

Something you have a collection of: Extra buttons from clothes I've bought, scrapbooking stuff, elastic hair ties, Alaska Airline miles

A smell that cheers you up: Plumeria

A smell that can ruin your mood: Urine in a stairwell

How long since you last shaved: Legs: two days. Arms: at least four days. (See "weather," above.)

The current state of your hair: Up and out of the way. It's almost always down during the day, but when I get home I immediately put my hair up.

The largest item on your desk/workspace (not computer): Alive: cat. Not alive: Brass "lawyer's lamp" with green hood and brass pull-chain.

Your skill with chopsticks: I'd starve.

Which section you head for first in a bookstore: Travel, romance, bargain, craft ("He first saw her at the Moroccan village artisan fair...")

Something you’re craving: Sunshine, hearing German, Baskin-Robbins Swiss Orange Chip ice cream

Your general thoughts on the presidential race: I have high hopes that Obama will win. If he doesn't, I am seriously worried aboutmy mental state, the state of the country, and the state of the world.

How many times have you been hospitalized this year: None -- but I'll be having surgery this Friday, when the "mole holes" that are just now healing will be obliterated again in an effort to ward off more"abnormal cells.".

Favorite place to go for a quiet moment: There's a bench in front of the village church in Ruhpolding, Bavaria, Germany. I have spent some happy and peaceful moments there.

You’ve always secretly thought you’d be a good: Midwife.

Something that freaks you out a little: The fact that Tom and I JUST met, got married and had kids... and somehow many, many years have passed in the blink of an eye. IS life truly so short?

Something you’ve eaten too much of lately: Food.

You have never: been able to draw well.

You never want to: be completely alone.
