My parents figured out that I knew how to read when I was 18 months old.
By the time I entered preschool at age 3, I could read better than most elementary-school children. But the preschool teachers didn't believe my mother when she told them that I could read. Until the week after the pipes froze... A two-page memo for the teachers was affixed to the wall in the bathroom attached to my classroom. I read it, but didn't understand a word on the second page. So I ripped it off the wall and asked the teacher what the word meant. She asked me if I really could read what the memo said, so I read it all to her.

If I could just get my 2-yr old to talk, I'd be happy. Wow, that is amazing.

ReplyDeleteWow! I thought The Boy was doing well with signing and speaking. Now I am worried he'll be behind! LOL!
