A Day on the Chiemsee: Herrenchiemsee und Fraueninsel






The weather was perfect!
The two Bavarian houses are Steinbergerhof, where we've been staying for the past three days (posted the view from our window yesterday). The church is Ruhpolding's town church -- beautiful! The castle is Herrenchiemsee and the island is Frauninsel. The satisfied man is... GUESS!


Writing from an Internet Cafe (why did I bring my laptop?!) before leaving for a day on the Alpen roads, from Ruhpolding to Garmish via Innsbruck and Mittenwald.

    You are bringing back a lot of great memories! I first went to the Herrenchiemsee when I was a junior in high school. It was foggy and cold that spring day, but it was still beautiful!

    These are gorgeous pictures! I have a nearly identical (but not nearly so nice) picture of an onion dome near Passau, and I'm too lazy to check the map.. is this anywhere near there?
