While the rest of the country -- and much of the world -- is experiencing what can only be described as downright YUKKY, muggy, stifling weather, we in Seattle are enjoying mild temperatures and very enjoyable (that'd be acceptable to those of you afflicted with S.A.D) bluish-grayish, only sometimes wettish, skies.
Sure, it still rains fairly often, "even though it's August," but look at it this way: we don't have to water our yards daily and we can go outside and actually enjoy the temperature, and well, we just appreciate the sunshine more when it's interspersed with some, um... non-sunshine!
Now our winter weather, especially last winters weather, you can HAVE!
ADDENDUM: Literally five minutes after I posted those photos, I took off my sweatshirt, donned flip-flops, brought the chairs back to the table, and took this photo (notice the shadows and feel the heat)!
As they say here in Seattle (see my weather widget over there -->), if you don't like the weather, just wait a minute!
I can't believe this weather we are having in August. I have lived here 30+ years and I sure don't remember another August like this. That doesn't necessarily it didn't happen, but . . .
ReplyDeleteI am SO glad we took the company up Mt. Rainier the day after they arrived. It was the only one with clear skies so far. Otherwise the SO of my niece would never believe there is such a thing as Mt. Rainier.
Love that dog...we are sweltering her in T-Dot and grass, what grass? It's all brown and yellow and weedy, they alway survive...ciao
ReplyDeletePeople are always amazed that I actually like our grey weather when they find out we came from Seattle.
ReplyDeleteI could use a little more sun this summer though!
